The Learning Support Teachers provide moderate learning support for grades EE2-Grade 8.
The services consist of providing in-class supports and/or individualised instruction to remediate skills associated with learning difficulties. In the High School (Grades 9-12) the courses are essentially college-preparatory, with a demanding academic emphasis. Supports for students with learning support needs at this level are limited.
An important element of the Learning Support Process is the Case Study Team. The Case Study Team may consist of the Principal, Head of Student Support Services, Learning Support Teacher, Counsellor, Homeroom Teacher, and Subject Teachers. The team meets to discuss student progress and to initiate strategies and interventions for support and remediation of learning difficulties.
